Atsushi's starter and closest thing he has to a best friend in this world. Chazuke lives up to his namesake as a Wimpod. He's pretty nervous on a good day and he's terrified of bird Pokemon. He's eager to please his trainer, however, and yearns to grow big and strong like all the other Pokemon he's met. He likes to hide in tall grass.

Evolved in Oreburgh City. HES A BIG HUGBUGBOY NOW and honestly he is absolutely no different despite being much, much larger.

Named Chazuke after Atsushi's favorite dish, Ochazuke (Tea-On-Rice)

Atsushi met Natto after accidentally stepping on her tail in the forest and getting skunked. He made it up to her with a peace offering of berries, and the promise of easy food made her want to stick around. She's pretty weak to sweets for being such a smelly Pokemon. She's very energetic and a lot bolder than Chazuke, willing to march right up to anything and challenge it to a battle or investigate. She's easily set off, though, so getting on the wrong end of her tail isn't wise.

Natto evolved a couple weeks after Chazuke full of bitterness for not evolving first. Now that she's large she is even more in charge than she was before.

Named Natto because that's the strongest smelling thing she reminds him of that isn't Durian, honestly.

Mizu's personality is currently largely unknown to Atsushi, having taken him into his team following Cyrus resetting the world. He doesn't do or react to a whole lot, so when Atsushi has him out of his ball he is close by him at all times. Atsushi hopes that eventually he'll be able to discover what he really is like, just like his other companions. He feels like giving up on him because he has no spirit wouldn't be fair, and so he keeps him in hopes that things will get better.

Mizushi is starting to come into his personality, showing Atsushi that he's actually quite an outgoing little fellow. He loves to play and he's very energetic. Sometimes he rushes headlong into battles eagerly without considering consequence, but he's not quite so brash as Natto.

Named Mizushi after water because it seemed apt, and because his buoyant body reminds him of Raindrop Cake.

Atsushi met Grace after pretty much rescuing her from the jaws of Natto during a too-rough training session. She's not as spiritless as Mizushi was when Atsushi first found him, but she seems quite timid and shy. She stays close by Atsushi whenever outside of her ball, either perched on him somewhere or in his arms. She's curious, but still needs some time to come out of her shell.

Grace is named after the Gracidea flowers found in Floaroma Town, where Atsushi met her.

Atsushi met Kibo on Mt. Coronet after she protected him from a deadly rockslide on the mountain. She stayed near him that day, and he asked her to stay with him before she could disappear back into the mountains that evening. One capture later and she became part of the team.

Despite knowing that a lot of her spirit had returned, Kibo is the quietest of all Atsushi's Pokemon. She doesn't seem to have personality on the surface, but her quietness is completely different from a lack of spirit. She's observant, constantly watching for danger. She is highly protective of Atsushi, seemingly aware of a past of disasters attached to him that he can't quite shake.

Kibo means "Hope".

Riolu | Male | Adamant | Strong willed

Foresight, Quick Attack, Endure, Counter, Feint, Force Palm, Copycat

Met on Mt. Coronet along with Kibo. Atsushi found Ao while wandering the caves...and after getting himself lost once again. The little Riolu found him and grew curious by his presence, sticking by him until he finally found his way back out again. It seemed that Ao knew the way out, so Atsushi was able to follow him as he darted behind rocks while keeping a bit of a distance. After capturing him (because once a Pokemon has been around him more than an hour Atsushi can't just leave them behind apparently), his curiosity grew and he found fast companionship with Atsushi's still-Eevee, Grace.

Grace is quite popular, you see.

Ao himself is very eager to show his strength, but he's not rash and reckless like Natto. He wants to grow stronger, but is fine letting that strength come when it will.
